Overview

The single, ultimate concern of the written component is to introduce, revisit via research and prototyping insights, and finally conclude my hypothesis regarding the possibility of a user interface that can effectively establish trust between the individual and the organization given the context of a workplace surveillance system.

The written component will provide context for the hypothesis primarily by way of bibliographic research on the topics of privacy rights in the workplace, workplace policies, privacy determination and negation in current user interfaces, and current and next generation surveillance technology for the workplace.

The written component will document aspects of the work executed on the visual component that are pertinent to the discussion and conclusion of the thesis statement. This will include coverage of design principles, tracking the rationale of important design changes of the prototype, and insights from user testing sessions of the prototype.
